I will be studying part time, and interning part time also, at Pro Capital LTD. I will be leaving Newark NJ May 31, and return July 23. I will keep you all updated, and also pictures!JessicaLynnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00879852468330936453noreply@blogger.comBlogger43125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-414315458947194511.post-58798377147960962512011-07-23T06:23:00.000-04:002011-07-23T06:23:38.179-04:00Goodbye London!It has been a great experience here in London this summer. I have learned a lot about myself as a person, and I think that I can come out of this being a much stronger person in the end. I can be much more independent, and most importantly go with the flow. I have learned to live and let go, I can't hold onto every little thing in life that bothers me. I need to just deal with what I can control.<br />
<br />
I have also made life long friends while I have been here. It is sad that we have to go our separate ways, but we will meet up again in life I'm sure, and thanks to technology we can keep in touch. I have to look at all of the positives in life, and remember to go with the flow, don't try to control and plan every little thing in life. It never works and always comes back to bite you in the butt.<br />
<br />
Well I'm out! It's been fun with my blog, and I hope that you have enjoyed my London adventures. I might even start another blog when I get back to keep you updated on all of the random things that go on in my life, and how this whole "going with the flow" thing goes. I'm off to the airport! Wish me luck trying to take all of my luggage with me!<br />

Sad, but exciting all at the same time!<br />
<br />
Caitlin and I met in Piccadilly Circus, did some last souvenir shopping and then went our separate ways for the day. I continued walking around Piccadilly Circus, made my way to Leicester Square. I went into M&M world! It was amazing. Four floors of fun as they say. I can't believe how much crap they can make into M&M stuff!! But it was still cool to look around at thats for sure. After that...I made my way to Covent Garden walked around there. I went into a store that all natural cosmetics. It was a very cool store! I bought 2 things there, I couldn't help it. After that I went to Trafalger Square and sat in the sun for a little while.<br />
<br />
I decided to come home because I was hungry. I came home and made more pasta...and finished watching the O.C. finally!<br />
<br />
Caitlin and I met up one more time, and went to see the Tower Bridge at night. It was very pretty thats for sure! We went to Trafalger Square to see if it was lit up, but it wasn't kind of a let down. We walked through Leicester Square and then went into M&M world. I had to show Caitlin how awesome it was!! Then we went to Piccadilly Circus to see it at night, kind of like NYC. So then we had to go our separate ways, kind of sad actually! I made my way home finished all the last minute packing and went to bed! Last night in London! (pictures will be posted later)JessicaLynnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00879852468330936453noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-414315458947194511.post-63263817626867721122011-07-21T19:21:00.000-04:002011-07-21T19:21:23.722-04:00London EyeToday I was woken up by the maid that comes into empty the garbage and vacuum my room. I can't believe I slept until 12:30. Oh well, I guess I needed it. I was up late reading last night, I decided that because I have time for myself I can actually read a book that I want to read, not something I have to read. I am determined to finish Deception Point by Dan Brown in 2 nights. I leave the day after tomorrow!!<div><br />
</div><div>But after I got up out of bed, I packed all of my clothes, except what I want to wear the last two days! I am definatily going to need to pay the extra charge for a heavy bag. It will be a humorous sight to see me going through the tube with all of my stuff. I really had no idea what to do today, so what better to do than go walk up and down Oxford Street. I did't really want to spend money, so I just went and window shopped. I went into the Body Shop, and they gave me a mini makeover, that was fun. I felt pretty for the rest of the day. After that I went to Liberty. I had to go there because Professor Wollan suggested that I go there. It was awesome, and fun to look at stuff but wayyy to expensive. I continued walking down Oxford street, and then came across a store that was shutting down. They sold shoes. I bought two pairs of boots for 25 pounds total. SCORE! They're super cute too. </div><div><br />
</div><div>I had some time to go home and kill, so of course I watched an episode of the O.C. When 8pm rolled around, I went to meet Caitlin to go on the London Eye. That was awesome, it was beautiful at night. I of course took lots of pictures of the same thing but it was still awesome!! Totally suggested that you do it at night. </div><div><br />
</div><div>Now it is time for me to read again! Goodnight. </div><div><br />

My internship was done last week, but I had my presentation and final this week and now i'm done. My final was yesterday. That means that I didn't do anything really exciting all day. I stayed in my room and studied. See, not exciting.<br />
<br />
<br />
After the final Caitlin came over and we ordered Papa John's. This was definitely the highlight of my day. The highlight of my food experience over here too. I have never looked forward to pizza so much in my life!!!<br />
<br />

I think yes....<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">Today started out like any other day. Wake up to an alarm clock, put on the snooze for about a half an hour, then finally get up to start the day off. </div><div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;"><br />
</div><div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">Today was Sam's last day here in London, she is probably getting home about now as I am writing this blog post. We decided to go to Camden Market when it opened so that she could do something the last day here. Unfortunately when you get there 15 minutes after it opens, there's not a whole lot going on. We still got to walk around and I had a wonderful bottle of freshly squeezed orange juice again! So good, I love it. We only got to walk around for about an hour before we had to head back so that she could get her bags and depart for the airport. I walked her to the tube station, and then went separate ways from there of course. I am not looking to have to get all of my luggage to the airport on my own, it will not be fun. </div><div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;"><br />
</div><div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">So Caitlin and I met up to go to the Olympic Venues. I just wanted to see it before I left, and going to see the venues made me want to come back for the games! I can't even imagine what it will be like in a year from now. It will be amazing. We couldn't really do a whole lot there, but walk around a few different areas and take some pictures of the construction. </div><div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;"><br />
</div><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Main Venue, Opening and closing ceremonies will be here</td></tr>
</tbody></table><div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-PMX9MxYDrV4/TiYHFuMearI/AAAAAAAAAT4/VLBqdROHcGc/s1600/DSCN4744.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-PMX9MxYDrV4/TiYHFuMearI/AAAAAAAAAT4/VLBqdROHcGc/s320/DSCN4744.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;"><br />
</div><div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;"><br />
</div><div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">After that, we couldn't really do anything else so we decided to head back to go to Camden Market again because Caitlin hadn't been since we went at closing a few weeks ago, and I needed to get something that I regretted not getting before. So we got on the DLR train that went from the Olympic Venue to Bank station so that we could switch there and go up to Camden. We had to make a transfer on the DLR and I found the big financial district outside of London. If I were to ever work in London, I'm sure that would be where I would work. Its weird because its outside of London, but still considered to be in london. So its on the outskirts, but then there is this little grouping of huge buildings that were all just Citi, Barclays, Bank of America, KPMG, Credit Suisse, and many more. I couldn't even imagine working there in a few years from now, or even a year. </div><div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;"><br />
</div><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-9zrnW3WRBNQ/TiYHKU-alUI/AAAAAAAAAT8/NqPqh68gZls/s1600/DSCN4765.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-9zrnW3WRBNQ/TiYHKU-alUI/AAAAAAAAAT8/NqPqh68gZls/s320/DSCN4765.JPG" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Financial Heaven</td></tr>
</tbody></table><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">So we made our connection, arrived at bank and went to switch lines to get to Camden. This became an issue where there was an announcement over the loud speakers "due to a reported alert, all passengers must evacuate immediately." Caitlin and I were very confused and really didn't know what was going on, but we made sure to get out of there. Once we were leaving a bunch of maitenance people were watching the videos in the observation room, and then there were a bunch of fire trucks that zoomed past us. So we were still wondering what was going on, but we caught a bus and headed towards Angel to get on a tube station we knew, and was far away from Bank. So when we got to Angel there was a notice saying that due to a reported fire there would be no stopping at Bank, but we were going the other way so that was fine. It just always seems to be Caitlin and myself that run into problems and bad luck. Oh well, we made it there, walked around for a little bit. </div><div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;"><br />
</div><div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">When we decided to leave I went to Kings Cross to get a tshirt from the London 2012 store, it was cheaper there than at the actual site. Pretty pumped. So after that we went our seperate ways. I got to Angel and was wondering what I was going to have for dinner, of course all I have left is cup of soups or pasta. Of course I had pasta. With the pasta I wanted to have garlic bread, so I stopped at the 24 hour mart that usually has some, they were out. The texaco was out, and the other 24 hour mart didn't carry any. So I had to walk all the way to the grocery store just to get a simple thing of garlic bread. Oh well it was so good and worth it!! :)</div><div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-SAGHjjf5sKw/TiYHPQG-I2I/AAAAAAAAAUA/ez3q-I4fKbw/s1600/DSCN4766.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-SAGHjjf5sKw/TiYHPQG-I2I/AAAAAAAAAUA/ez3q-I4fKbw/s320/DSCN4766.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">Other than that I watched some episodes of the O.C. and read some for my final tomorrow. I'm getting ready to go to bed now!! 3 Days!</div><div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;"><br />

So the only thing that I have school related left is my final! WOOHOO!. My presentation sucked though, I had so much information to spit out that I totally blanked and had a hard time coming up with exactly what I wanted to say. But its done so all is good. On my way home though it DOWNPOURED! It sucked, but hey I made it home and could change which was good.<br />
<br />
After that I sat in my room updating my blog, and the Sam got home from the zoo. We went to the Eagle for a dinner before she leaves tomorrow. I can't believe its been a week already, seems like she just got here. We sat there for a few hours just talking having a great time. Other than that I slept in until 1pm today, that tells you how tired I really was!! I'm going to go to bed here soon too.<br />

I was ready to head home though, I was tired of hearing French, and I had seen all of the big sights and was ready to head home. Well to London.<br />
<br />
So, in the morning we went to the market in Paris. It was very sweet. It had a lot of food and flowers. I liked looking at the pretty flowers. I wanted to buy some because they were very pretty and I had never seen any like that before, but I didn't know what I would do with them. It was fun to look at all of the amazing fresh produce and meat cuts. On our way to the next destination I got a crape it was sooo good, sausage and cheese of course.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-RIq_8oSC2_4/TiS_jBmaebI/AAAAAAAAATM/Xa7J9b9Kqds/s1600/DSCN4656.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-RIq_8oSC2_4/TiS_jBmaebI/AAAAAAAAATM/Xa7J9b9Kqds/s320/DSCN4656.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-nQ6Ow7RGWfk/TiS_pTbSBuI/AAAAAAAAATQ/MGInLeeE9O4/s1600/DSCN4657.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-nQ6Ow7RGWfk/TiS_pTbSBuI/AAAAAAAAATQ/MGInLeeE9O4/s320/DSCN4657.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<br />
We then headed off to the Champs Elysees. Basically this was like oxford street in London. It had a bunch of high quality stores on the street and was amazing to look at. I swear I was drooling at the bags in the Louis Vuitton store, and the shoes of course! I wanted to buy one so bad, and if it wasn't more than I was expecting I totally would have come back with a new Louis Vuitton bag from Paris. So we walked up that for quite a way until we came to the arc de triomphe. We took a lot of pictures of that, it was HUGE! From there we wanted to go to the Eiffel tower to take pictures in the day time, because we had of course taken a lot of pictures at night, but none in the day time. So pictures galore, fun times. Before we got on the Metro, I bought a painting from a man in the tunnels below the arc. They were selling paintings and pictures, and I wanted to buy one because it was very similar to New Orleans, and I bought a painting there, so I figured why not!? It is great, and the best thing was that I got it for a fraction of the price because I bargained to no end! I was the wheeler and dealer!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-vckqf8n8gEE/TiS_xDiVD0I/AAAAAAAAATU/AM6zFJn9pAc/s1600/DSCN4675.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-vckqf8n8gEE/TiS_xDiVD0I/AAAAAAAAATU/AM6zFJn9pAc/s320/DSCN4675.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-hLrJPWIbZ3g/TiS_5cHbqMI/AAAAAAAAATY/i9W1BBlFBRM/s1600/DSCN4693.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-hLrJPWIbZ3g/TiS_5cHbqMI/AAAAAAAAATY/i9W1BBlFBRM/s320/DSCN4693.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-iTxfLnFeHNg/TiS__VySRhI/AAAAAAAAATc/Gdr1VxG7tjQ/s1600/DSCN4699.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-iTxfLnFeHNg/TiS__VySRhI/AAAAAAAAATc/Gdr1VxG7tjQ/s320/DSCN4699.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div>Before we headed back to the hotel to get our bags we went to the Fat Tire Bike tour office, because I had regretted not getting a tshirt from there, so we went back so that I could buy one! YAY! After that our time in Paris was almost to an end. We ate lunch at a cafe, and we got the most delicious meals ever! It was a meal deal so you got an appetizer, entree, and a desert for 16 euros. Such a good idea. So I got some sort of salad, then steak, and a chocolate mousse! SOOOO GOOOD!!!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-hz0HPbFUxos/TiTAIZr73sI/AAAAAAAAATg/cQGbFMCETv0/s1600/DSCN4719.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-hz0HPbFUxos/TiTAIZr73sI/AAAAAAAAATg/cQGbFMCETv0/s320/DSCN4719.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

Then of course we had to leave, go to the train and head back to London. That was all fine and dandy except that on the train I sat at a table with 3 children and a mother that didn't care what they did. I was very annoyed, and all I wanted to do was sleep!!! Oh well, I got a lot of reading done, and everyone around me felt bad for me. So yeah it was a long train ride home. Then once we got home we had to carry our bags home...that sucked too. Anyways we finally made it home, and I uploaded my pictures to my computer and passed out. I was so tired.<br />

Well I can. So Saturday we woke up an hour later than we wanted to, not on purpose. It was a complete accident...our phones didn't change back from the time difference so yeah, our day started an hour late. It was ok though, it all worked out. We went to the Louvre and the line wasn't long at all! So we of course made our way to the Mona Lisa first saw a bunch of stuff a long the way. Then we wanted to go to another wing, but the person at the check in took our ticket so we couldn't really leave without getting back in! So I stood there and pretty much just stood there until I pissed them off and they called over to the other wing we wanted to go to. We got in to see the old moats of the louvre...pretty sweet.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-gLYXV4xpRBc/TiR5vUNJReI/AAAAAAAAASo/aNLWMkaFjsM/s1600/DSCN4514.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-gLYXV4xpRBc/TiR5vUNJReI/AAAAAAAAASo/aNLWMkaFjsM/s320/DSCN4514.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><br />

So we left the Louvre and made our way to Notre Dame, took some pictures and then left to go back to our hotel. We took a much needed nap...and then got ready to go out for dinner and the Eiffel tower. Our dinner was great! Probably the best part of the night. We went to a fondue place, and I had to climb over the table to sit down. But it was because it was such a small place. And then we drank wine out of baby bottles. Such a great experience. So then we made our way to the Eiffel tower to meet up with some other people...and because it was raining there was no line! That was nice. But I would have much rather it not be raining. So we got in the elevator and made the long trek to the top. It was extremely windy and cold up there. We couldn't find the champaign either...so I got half of my birthday wish. But yeah. I didn't get to wear my new shoes either because it was so windy cold and wet that I was afraid that I would fall! Not taking that chance. After that the rest of my birthday was anticlimactic, we went back to the hotel. HAHA! Sleep was a wonderful thing though.<br />

The alarm was set for plenty of time for us to get ready to go to Paris, but of course we slept through it and woke up 5 minutes before we were supposed to be at the train station. So it was a good thing we had packed the night before, so we threw on our clothes and ran out the door. We finally made it to meet Caitlin at King's Cross, Sam only had a few minutes before the check in closed for her train, so we went our separate ways. Caitlin and I went to get our converter from UK to Europe...how annoying. Then we made our way to Costa to get breakfast and a drink. I got an iced coffee because I was super hot, and the iced coffee was more like a room temperature watered down coffee. It worked though.<br />
<div><br />
</div><div>We went and got in queue to get on our train, and had our bags checked and got more stamps in our passports and loaded onto the train. I sat next to a lovely woman that was from Greece. We chatted and then I did some reading for our final that is Wednesday. It wasn't a bad train ride. It was pretty cool though going through the Chunnel, although there was no climax, really you just went through a tunnel and then came out the other side. We finally arrived in Paris at the train station. We met up with Sam right away and made our way to the hotel. It was interesting trying to find our way around with no english...at least we had Sam though who knew a little bit of French. </div><div><br />
</div><div>So we got to our stop, got out of the station and made our way to the hotel. I was afraid that no one would understand English but fortunately the man at the front desk of our hotel was very nice and knew english. So we were on the top floor, and thank god there was a lift to get us up because going up 6 floors would have sucked. So we got in there and were pleasantly surprised. It was a 2 star hotel, but for the location and price it really wasn't bad at all. We had a balcony with a lovely view.</div><div><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-x3vMerDM0QE/TiRp7LJEInI/AAAAAAAAARg/-wAHE6VB4Eg/s1600/DSCN4308.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-x3vMerDM0QE/TiRp7LJEInI/AAAAAAAAARg/-wAHE6VB4Eg/s320/DSCN4308.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div>So it was time for us to head out. (I'm not going to even attempt to spell or even remember what the names of the places that we went to were) We went to a big cathedral on a big hill. It had an amazing view, it was beautiful. The weather was great. It was such a beautiful place. We took some pictures and then made our way through the "red light" district of Pairs to get to the Moulon Rouge we took some pictures and left. We went to the Fat Tire Bike tour place to make sure that we could get into the night tour. We bought tickets, or well....Sam bought me mine for my Birthday! It was great. </div><div><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nio85aqnEKs/TiRqNOKZXFI/AAAAAAAAARs/l2LEBSjo5-c/s1600/DSCN4330.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nio85aqnEKs/TiRqNOKZXFI/AAAAAAAAARs/l2LEBSjo5-c/s320/DSCN4330.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Ben, our tour guide telling us to DOMINATE</td></tr>
</tbody></table><div>While we were waiting for the tour to start we went and got some food, it was cheap but gross. I know where not to eat anymore in Paris. But it filled us up for the tour. So we mad our way back to the tour place, waited around for our group and then it was ready to get our bikes. We got on our bikes and then made our way to meet our tour guide. His name was Ben, and he told us to Dominate Paris! We needed to take over the roads so that we wouldn't get hit. We rode our California Cruisers through Paris. I felt very European, it was a lot of fun. So we went to Notre Dame, and on the bridge we were standing on, there was a lot of locks on the bridge. He said that they were the locks of love. If you met someone in Paris that you wanted to lock your love together you would go to your favorite bridge in Paris, write your names on it, and then throw the key into the river. He said that the locks get cut off every couple of months because it gets so heavy that they start to pull the railings down. </div><div><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-E0NgmEB9xEk/TiRrDEenEcI/AAAAAAAAASM/5E3WVsGhJXE/s1600/DSCN4375.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-E0NgmEB9xEk/TiRrDEenEcI/AAAAAAAAASM/5E3WVsGhJXE/s320/DSCN4375.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-y7bEesur6FU/TiRq3rD3OBI/AAAAAAAAASE/hT1VGQrUBDY/s1600/DSCN4364.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-y7bEesur6FU/TiRq3rD3OBI/AAAAAAAAASE/hT1VGQrUBDY/s320/DSCN4364.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div>Then we went to get ice cream. It was all natural ice cream. SO GOOD! And even better, Johnny Depp has an apartment above where we got our ice cream. So we continued around Paris, saw a few more things (like the Louvre) and then finally got to the boat. Boat you ask? Yes, it included a boat tour down the river! We also got red wine to drink too. It was a lovely ride. I eventually gave up on taking pictures because they never came out good because the boat was moving...so I saw the sights and talked to Ben about how I could possibly do it next summer! Super cool idea. We got off the boat, and made a stop at the Eiffel Tower at night. It was about 10 minutes until midnight (the first minute of my birthday). Every hour on the hour the tower would start to sparkle, so Sam and Caitlin got everyone to sing happy birthday to me. So the first minute of my birthday consisted of everyone from the Fat Tire Bike Tour singing Happy Birthday, and the Eiffel tower sparkling. So then it was time to ride back to the office and head off for the night. We dropped off our bikes, and we were hungry again and since our tour was 5 hours, the only thing that was open at 12:30am was McDonalds. </div><br />

</div><div>I got a chicken sandwich and fries of course. Then we made our way to the metro and home to the hotel. Let me just say that I officially hate the Paris metro at night. We were almost to our stop, and then there was this man that was dressed up as snow white and his friends tried to make their way to sit down, well that failed. He fell into Caitlin's lap and as that happened his cheap alcoholic drink spilled all down me. I was not very thrilled to say the least. We made it home FINALLY!! Then it was time to shower, eat my McDonalds and then go to sleep. </div><div><br />

The cheese made it so much better because it was such high quality cheese. I know you may be thinking how big of a difference? Well a huge difference. It was so good! Then we had green beans with caramelized onions and bacon. And lastly we had two different types of sausage. It was delish.<br />
<br />

Last night was the night of the free Anberlin Concert. AMAZING. Yes, I know that I have seen them before, but I could go see them all of the time, seriously. If I had to make a top 3 list of my favorite musicians, not in any specific order, Dave Matthews Band, John Mayer, and Anberlin. For sure.<br />
<br />
So yesterday was work, boring, handed in my paper, more work, then class, got out early....that was my day in a nutshell. Then Caitlin and I went up to Angel to meet Sam there, the anticipation was killing me. I was so excited. So we had to get on the tube, go up one stop to Kings Cross, and then take another line up one more stop. Once we got there I was so excited, I just wanted to jump for joy of course! Once we were in, we made our way right to the merchandise counter, I bought a t-shirt. Super sweet shirt too.<br />
<br />
So we make our way to the front, duh....we watch the first band play...they're called What Now. They were very good. I was plesently surprised with them. Of course not as good as Anberlin...but thats hard to do. These guys who were probably about 16, in the background of their song started chanting "Anberlin! Anberlin!" I thought that it was very rude. They made me angry (but that wasn't the end of it). So they finished their set list, and then we waited for about half an hour until Anberlin came on, because well we had to wait for the first band to take everything down, and then for Anberlin to set up. Those same kids kept trying to push forward, so of course I did what any girl would do and stuck my hips out. Of course I was a lot taller than pip-squeak...so my hip bone was right in his lower back. He didn't like that too much. He finally got the hint and backed off only a little bit though.<br />
<br />
*Sidenote* I think that this is a perfect example of why people so young shouldn't be able to drink around here. They were seriously like 16 and had alcohol in their hands, and obviously very very intoxicated. I think that States wait, because they at least want people to be a little bit more mature and responsible, but these kids were OBNOXIOUS!<br />
<br />
Ok back to the story. So after hearing more and more chanting from these idiots, Anberlin FINALLY came out. They were great, except for these damn kids started moshing. Ok, for those of you that don't know Anberlin, first you need to listen to them, and second they are NOT a moshing band. These kids were pissing everyone off around them. One of them got pushed into me and hit the back of my head, I mean I'm obviously fine but I was like ok thats it. So the next time they came back towards me I elbowed the guy in the back. It felt good. There was this guy that was in front of Sam and I (Caitlin got lost behind us when the "mosh" started) like saw what happened, and hes like are you ok? And he ended up giving Sam and I his spot so that he could push them back if they come up again. You could tell after a couple of songs the buzz started to wear off, I mean looking at them they were either very very very drunk or just on some sort of drugs. I don't know which one. So that was the end of them, thanks to that random guy. People are so much nicer here than in the states. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-QKIk__j8Yjs/Th7nZ20X_II/AAAAAAAAAQs/gpEOBO1LHN8/s1600/DSCN4238.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-QKIk__j8Yjs/Th7nZ20X_II/AAAAAAAAAQs/gpEOBO1LHN8/s320/DSCN4238.JPG" width="320" /> </a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div>So then there was an issue with Anberlin's amp. So they were prepared, and had all of their acoustic stuff, which is awesome. They were talking to all of us for a few minutes. People started to yell out song names for them to play (this was before they brought out the acoustic stuff) and one of those dumb kids yelled out "play the mosh song!" so he was totally making fun of them and hes like yeah! I'll play the mosh song, and he started to sing a mellow slow song. So funny. Then people were yelling out more songs, I yelled out my first Anberlin song that I had ever heard. Its called Day Late Friend. If it wasn't for that song, and my good friend Ryan Utter in high school, I might not have even ever heard of them. I only yelled it out twice, and I couldn't yell that loud...or I didn't think. I didn't think they could hear me so I just gave up...but then they announced that they would play an acoustic song. Other people kept yelling out...and then they were like "So we're going to play a song from one of our older albums, we heard it yelled out by someone in the crowd, I don't know who it was, but they will know when we start to play it, its on the "Never Take Friendship Personal" album, and Sam and I were like OMG its on that album...and they started to play the song!!! It was amazing I was so so so happy....Then the concert kept going on, they played like 3 or 4 acoustic songs...then they fixed the problems, and the concert went on. It was so amazing. He paused between a song, and he mentioned something about dancing to a song, and then said don't dance like these guys though (totally referring to the stupid kids behind us) So funny, everyone laughed.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-iiMp9x3txdY/Th7niJAPvCI/AAAAAAAAAQw/xOhQaq7Nzk8/s1600/DSCN4243.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-iiMp9x3txdY/Th7niJAPvCI/AAAAAAAAAQw/xOhQaq7Nzk8/s320/DSCN4243.JPG" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Playing Day Late Friend</td></tr>
</tbody></table>So the show ended, everyone cleared out...we made our way up to the very front (I mean only like 10 feet closer than where we were)...just to see if we could get a pick or something of the sort. The security guard was standing right in front of the stage. He was the nicest security guard...he could tell we weren't from around here obviously so he started to talk to us. We were like looking around on the ground for anymore valuables...and he's like I think they got everything...I was like well I want a drum stick. He said well thats not mine to give out...I don't have the authority...then one of the band crew members came out and he walked over and asked if they could give me the drum stick! The guard came back and was like you owe me big time, and I said for what!? The crew guy came over and handed it right to me. I was so excited. Sam goes "and its her birthday Saturday!" So it's like a birthday present. All for free!! So I was holding that stick and I was just joking around and was like now I want it signed (although I was happy with just the stick) and the guard said well...I can tell you how to get around to the bus. So he told us to go out and around the building and the bus would be right outback. So of course we thanked him big time and then went out around the building to the bus.<br />
<br />
We waited for a good 15-20 minutes before anyone started to come out. The first people that came out were the ones from What Now, the opening band. I of course being me, said hello! and so the guy, with the red hair came out and was talking to the three of us. He was very funny, kind of intoxicated....but very funny. We were talking to him for a good 10-15 minutes...we were telling him a bunch of stories and he was telling us a bunch of stories. He mentioned that he was from South Africa...which he wanted to clarify that it wasn't "in the bush" because apparently all Americans that he has met said "You're from Africa!? Do you see zebras and giraffes" so clearly he has met the dumb Americans. Probably blonde. So yeah, we talked for quite awhile and how he lived not very far from where Dave Matthews is from. It was a great conversation. So by then the drummer of Anberlin came out, and we didn't notice...the red hair guy said don't you want your stick signed by him? And I was like wait is that the drummer? (he had on a hat so none of us could really tell, and when I saw them before he wasn't at the concert).<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RUqyJq2inmI/Th7nqZ4Y9zI/AAAAAAAAAQ0/Cn-Daw_UTos/s1600/DSCN4257.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RUqyJq2inmI/Th7nqZ4Y9zI/AAAAAAAAAQ0/Cn-Daw_UTos/s320/DSCN4257.JPG" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Guy from What Now</td></tr>
</tbody></table>I walked over fo the drummer and asked if he wouldn't mind signing the drum stick. He of course said no problem! He was very nice, all of them were. He goes I hope I didn't hit you when I threw the stick out (because he had thrown one stick out and the other was still on stage), I said nope, I just asked and had it handed to me. He just laughed and said oh well I guess that works too! I said I got it because it was my birthday...and so he wrote HAPPY BIRTHDAY on my stick and signed his name right below it. Sam was telling him how she had to see them in London when they had been to Rochester 3 times in the past 2 years. I mentioned that I saw them without her, but he wasn't there, someone else had stepped in. Surprisingly he remembered that concert, and applogized for not being there! Hahah. Of course we all got a picture with him.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">My signed Drum Stick!!!! </td></tr>
</tbody></table><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9lApN3pZpmA/Th7nQFiTFYI/AAAAAAAAAQo/tQikQ2Yv0Y0/s1600/DSCN4263.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9lApN3pZpmA/Th7nQFiTFYI/AAAAAAAAAQo/tQikQ2Yv0Y0/s320/DSCN4263.JPG" width="320" /> </a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div>Then we saw that the lead singer (Steven) came out so we went over to him. We waited patiently while other girls got pictures and signatures. So then he is standing there, and he sticks his hand out for a handshake which was pretty awesome. Of course I asked him to sign my stick, and get a picture. We also told him the same story about how I went without Sam, and that it was my birthday. I also said I was the one that yelled out Day Late Friend...and he goes yeah, we knew it was your birthday so we played it for you! Rather funny I'd say. So then on our way out I got my sticked signed by the bass guitarist. No picture with him though, he was busy loading the bus.<br />
<br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Drummer of Anberlin</td></tr>
</tbody></table>Oh it was an amazing night! It was awesome. This is officially going to be the best ongoing birthday ever!! I got a drumstick with three signatures, met, took pictures and talked to members of Anberlin! Amazing is the only word to describe it. Today is my last day at Pro Capital, and then tomorrow is Paris!<br />

I figured that there wouldn't be anything like normal...but to my surprise, I didn't have one, but two cards!!! One from Aunt Callie and Uncle Mert, and the second from Nana. Thank you to all of you! It made my day. :)<br />

So I will rewind to Tuesday.<br />
<br />
Tuesday morning Samantha arrived in London. I met her at about 11am at the Angel tube stop, made our walk back to my flat and she got all settled in. She wanted to take a quick nap, and that turned into about 4 hours. I'm not going to complain though, I finished my papers last touches and then Kat came over to work on her paper. I also got in an episode of The O.C. yay!<br />
<br />
When she finally woke up we went out to get dinner. I really didn't know where the "best" place to go was, so I decided to take her to Covent Garden. We walked around there, and found an authentic "English" restaraunt. We ordered fresh squeezed lemonade, much more sour than I was expecting...so after that I got a water...but on to the meal. I ordered a dish that I didn't really know what it was. I can't even remember the name now, basically what it was, was huge meatballs on mashed potatoes and gravy on all of that. My kind of meal. It was delish. Sam got some sort of a beef pie. It was delish as well.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-AlInDVIBaoc/Th7F73Q0BwI/AAAAAAAAAQM/CP4-b3GoOPw/s1600/DSCF2304.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-AlInDVIBaoc/Th7F73Q0BwI/AAAAAAAAAQM/CP4-b3GoOPw/s320/DSCF2304.JPG" width="320" /> </a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">My Dinner</td></tr>
</tbody></table><br />
After dinner we walked around Covent Garden, then to Trafalger Square and then to Big Ben. We were in Trafalger Square for awhile, just because Samantha wanted a picture on one of the Lions...which was completely fine by me...just amusing to watch her try to get on them. In her defense though, they were huge. We walked to Big Ben to see it all lit up at night. It was worth it, it was very pretty. Of course I forgot my memory card again...I hate that!! I think I need like a second one or something so that I don't have that issue anymore. But anyways, yeah we went saw big ben and Westminster at night...then made our way over to see the south bank and the London Eye at night. It was all very pretty!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Cw7KHN4dL6c/Th7FxZWOI6I/AAAAAAAAAQI/GqdpCDx3HF8/s1600/DSCN4198.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Cw7KHN4dL6c/Th7FxZWOI6I/AAAAAAAAAQI/GqdpCDx3HF8/s320/DSCN4198.JPG" width="240" /> </a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

There are a bunch of protestors outside of Parliment for like peace everywhere....well there was this guy (in a pink shirt) who was obviously very intoxicated...and then another guy who almost fell into the road (he couldn't even stand)...so the guy in a pink shirt saved him from falling in the road, then they were yelling at eachother...then they hugged...then the guy that almost fell in the road was walking away and then pink shirt ran up to him started yelling, a few more people got involved. Then there was hugging all around. The shirt came off like he was going to start a fight....and then there was a slap across a face, then more hugging. It was very weird, amusing to watch but very weird. Oh the things you'll see.<br />
<br />
We made our way back, and got all settled in for the night. That was pretty much it I'd say. An exciting night with Samantha getting here and more sight seeing. :)<br />

<br />
Number 1 : Time until Sam gets here: 23 hours.<br />
<br />
Number 2: Time until my paper is due: 1 day, 17 hours.<br />
<br />
Number 3: Days left at Pro Capital 2<br />
<br />
Number 4: Time until my 21 Birthday: 4 days, 2 hours, 30 minutes.<br />
<br />
Number 5: Days until I go home: 12.<br />
<br />
It keeps me saine, and it also helps me with time management....it's a wonderful thing. I can't wait for all of them!<br />
<br />
Anyways...today was my last Monday at Pro Capital...thank the lord. Monday's are the worst. I never want to wake up. Although, I did work on my paper about a quarter of the time that I was there. Shhh don't tell. I felt that it was a good use of time because well, I couldn't do anything until Oliver checks what I have done anyways. Whatever. So on my lunch I went and bought a sandwich from Pret, such a good decision on my part...SO GOOD!...I also bought some nail polish. It has been too long since I have painted my nails. Its such a cute color, its called coral. I went back finished up work, it was surprisingly a fast day. Wonderful. Tomorrow morning Samantha gets into town. I am pretty excited about that!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-rVjrBMiY9NU/ThtgcPWNhwI/AAAAAAAAAP4/TyPrzEaoFRA/s1600/DSCN4177.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-rVjrBMiY9NU/ThtgcPWNhwI/AAAAAAAAAP4/TyPrzEaoFRA/s320/DSCN4177.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div>I came home...finished my paper. Now I just have to maybe make some minor changes tomorrow but other than that everything is done! Then I ate sushi for dinner. At lunch today I bought some sushi, because I was craving it. What a better reason than that!? So yes, sushi for dinner. Delish. Oh...I also ate the rest of my mini strawberries that I bought at Camden Market. MMMMM<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RexTTcR4iEQ/ThtgjTBiwkI/AAAAAAAAAQA/IIxogXdNNuY/s1600/DSCN4181.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="179" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RexTTcR4iEQ/ThtgjTBiwkI/AAAAAAAAAQA/IIxogXdNNuY/s320/DSCN4181.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div>Other than that I have been in my room, painted my nails and pissed at iTunes. I paid to rent a movie last night, but it didn't download last night. It said that it would take 6 hours (much better than the original 8 hours). So I decided to watch it tonight...well it already expired. I'm going to complain. Makes me so angry. Now I don't know what I'm going to do tonight since that plan is gone...I guess I'll figure it out at some point. Probably when I'm done on here....well I'm done....so now I have to figure that out. Humph.<br />

That mission was to go back to Camden Market. I did have a purpose though, I didn't want to go back for just the heck of it because being a weekend it was bound to be busy. And so it was. I made my way to Camden though to get a gift for a very special person...Kelsie! Wait till you see this gift. It is a belated birthday gift, I'm excited!!! WOOHOOO! I have a problem. I like to give things to people, like Christmas is obviously my favorite holiday, but for other reasons than I get presents. I get to give people gifts, I take pride in buying gifts for people. It makes me happy when they open something I give them and makes them happy and smile. Thats my favorite thing, so of course this is like Christmas for me over here!<br />

</div><br />
Anyways there I was at Camden Market, and I had to wander of course while Kelsie's gift was being made...and there was so much more than what I saw the other day! I couldn't believe it. I am definitely going back before I head home. I wish I didn't have to worry about getting everything home because I could totally do all of my Christmas shopping there. I'm not even sure how I'm going to get all of my stuff that I have already bought home...but I will figure it out I'm sure. I bought myself something, I bought a fake bag. A "fake bag" is something that is a mock of a designer bag. I have wanted one of these for a while, so rather than paying over $100 for one, I bought one for 10 pounds. YAY GO ME! I also got myself a freshly squeezed orange juice. Delish! I then went and bought myself a new planner. Super excited about this purchase. If you know me, you know that I love my planner. I take pride in it. :)<br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div>So after that I made my way to Hyde Park. I thought that we were going to go boating, but it was a little chilly. So we didnt. Caitlin and I ended up going to get her some souvenirs and then dinner. I was starving. After that I headed home and have been sitting here pretty much ever since. Not the most exciting day. But I will be home in 13 days! And only have 3 days left at Pro Capital. I see the light at the end of the tunnel.<br />

For those of you that don't know, Brighton is a small town on the coast of England. It is about a 2 hour bus ride from London. Not too shabby. The morning came early, as I stayed up late last night to finish my paper, the important thing though is that I finished. Of course it is only my rough draft, but the hard part is done! So morning came too early, I got up, got ready and went over to McDonalds to get some coffee before making my treck over to Palace Court (where we met the coach bus). I finally got there, and got on the bus to wait a good 15 minutes before we finally left. We were off. Our fist stop before Brighton was the Charleston House. This honestly I could have done without, it was very boring and I didn't know anything of what they were talking about. Apparently there were artists that lived in this house, and it was pretty because they had painted everything from the walls, to window fixtures, to fireplaces. It was very unique, but as I said I could have done without and been perfectly fine.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: -webkit-auto;"><br />
</div>From there we went to Brighton...this was only about half an hour away from the Charleston House, which was good because I wasn't sure how much longer I could handle the bus. It was a very pretty area. We got off the bus and went right to the pavilion. I know you're thinking why would you go to a picnic house, well its not your typical pavilion. It looked like the castle that was in Aladin. I'm not lying. So we went got our pictures of that, and a pretty fountain and then headed towards the pier. We needed food...it was bad. We got some fish and chips...of which they wanted me to eat it with this stupid little wood pronged thing. I said screw that and just picked it up and ate it like a chicken finger. Oh, side note...I will be eating all of my french fries with vinegar from now on....just a forewarning. I LOVE it. We ate outside on the pier which was awesome, but we were getting blown away, we were out on the water obviously and it was so windy. The waves were pretty choppy. I can't even tell you how much it made me miss Maine. I think being homesick is bad, but then when you miss some place that isn't even your home thats when you know its bad.<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div>We finished up lunch and headed down toward the rides. I was so full at that point that I couldn't stomach riding anything, which was rather unfortunate if I do say so myself. We were on our way back to go down to the beach and look in some shops, where we saw a woman attempting to ride a mechanical bull. Let me just say that was quite the sight. Rather amusing. We continued on after watching her fall off the bull three times in a matter of a minute. So we of course went down to the water. How exciting, everyone was all like OMG it's going to be so cold don't go in! Well I wanted to see just how cold it was...pathetic. I was thinking to myself...go to Maine, then you will feel cold water. Wimps.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-i-biOYC5ZsE/Thi60h7lEhI/AAAAAAAAAOw/yn7GEzRR7V8/s1600/DSCN4059.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-i-biOYC5ZsE/Thi60h7lEhI/AAAAAAAAAOw/yn7GEzRR7V8/s320/DSCN4059.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div>Anyways so we continued on to shops, which all sucked. Then we came upon some tables that had homemade jewelry...that was pretty awesome...didn't get anything though. I held myself back! After that we only had about an hour left so we went and started meandering back towards where the bus would be and we stumbled upon "the lanes". This was a cool little area, tiny walkways around unique little shops. Very cool...and then the best thing!? We saw an ice cream place that had ice cream on sugar cones rather than stupid air filled cardboard cones. So excited...and it was green mint chocolate chip...my day was made.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0O0_rRddZkI/Thi7ZcEc8yI/AAAAAAAAAPA/QueF_6b6Bnc/s1600/DSCN4124.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0O0_rRddZkI/Thi7ZcEc8yI/AAAAAAAAAPA/QueF_6b6Bnc/s320/DSCN4124.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

We got back to the bus, and I must say that the ride back was much more comfortable...and I slept almost the whole way. We got into London, I headed home and took a shower. I am now writing this, I plan on watching a movie and then going to bed. Lame...I know. Well tomorrow will be another fun day in London. It is our last weekend here! Next weekend for my birthday we will be in Paris...and then the weekend after I go home. How crazy.<br />

Seriously.The one thing, if anything that I have learned while I have been here is that I should never plan things. I always have been the person that likes to have a plan from the minute I wake up, until the minute I lay my head on the pillow. I think that I really shouldn't be that person anymore. Its kind of annoying to be honest. I don't know why I go through all of the stress of trying to plan every little thing in my life, it is so much more liberating not doing that. When I plan something, something else ends up happening and you know what? It still ends up being fun...sometimes even more fun that what I had thought I would be doing. I am going to try my best when I get back to school to try to not be as much of a planner. I mean yes, for certain things such as school, and weekend vacations, those need to be semi planned, but for everything else...I'm going to try to go with the flow.<br />
<br />
I think that it will make me much less stressed, and enjoy life much more. You know what, I'm not going to get frustrated if I get lost, or can't find what I'm looking for. It is a new adventure that God has put before me and its the door that he wants me to take rather that what I have planned. I'm not going to fight him, I'll just go with the flow. That is my plan...hopefully it can stay that way.<br />
<br />
I just wanted to let you know my life lesson that I have learned while I have been here for 6 weeks.<br />

It is a rare occasion for me to be able to do that so I take advantage of that when I can. I did have my alarm set though for 10:30am, heard it, turned it off, and rolled back over. I decided that was too early for me. I mean that sort of did ruin my plans for the day though. I was planning on getting up, going to Camden Market, and maybe getting a manicure or pedicure to treat myself, or instead of that I was thinking of going to the Olympic venue. I figured I would see what I felt like as the day progressed. Well...that didn't work out so well. As I said I slept until noon, which I have a legitimate excuse for that...I was up until 2am working on my paper. See...legitimate. So I got up, and of course the first thing I do is check my email and facebook. I had a message asking if I wanted to meet up with some people for lunch...so of course I said yes! I got ready and got on the tube and headed all the way towards South Kensington. That is a good 40 minute tube ride. I got there, and I am so glad that I went. It was DELICIOUS. I had a lovely chicken and mushroom alfredo. I ate the whole thing. Don't judge. By the time we were done with that it was about 2:30. Thats ok though, my day was just starting.<br />

The night before I pulled it up on google and located it on google maps, well it lied. It said that the easiest way to get there was off of Kings Cross. It wasn't. People around there didn't even know what we were talking about. We decided to walk in the general direction that we thought it was, and asked another person. We were going the right way...so we continued walking. Finally we came up to it, and of course there was a tube stop right outside of everything. It was awesome though. I wish I had all day to go through there. It had all of the traditional touristy stuff, kind of what a boardwalk is like on the beach. They had a whole bunch of dresses, shoes, shirts, jewelry, etc. The best part was bargaining. I did a lot of that and saved a lot of money on the dresses that I bought. See now, it sounds like I have bought a lot, but I really haven't. I always purchase things at a good deal, and the way I see it justified is that I didn't get to travel as much as I wanted...although I could have I wasn't going to go to Rome myself....so I figure I'll just go shopping instead. Makes it worth it. Anyways, I bought three dresses...so fun going in there and bargaining. The asian men that work there are so good at their job. Of course you say something is cute and they jump right on that....I got told that this dress would make me look like a "boom chacka lacka"...I'm not even sure what that means...but I bought the dress. It really is cute on. I'm glad I bought it. Anyways, we walked around there for a little while, we only had about 2 hours until we had to head out again. Pictures of my dresses from the market. I only spent 35 pounds on all three!<br />

6pm rolled around and we had to get on the tube to go to our Jack the Ripper tour. It was pretty cool to learn about the stuff...but I'm glad we didn't have to pay for it. I would have been upset if we paid. If I had not seen the movie "From Hell" which is all about Jack the Ripper, then it would have been interesting to hear all of the stories....but since I had seen it...basically everything he told us was following the movie plot. It was fun never the less. After that it was time to head home. I made it home fine, and started working on my paper again. I had 3,500 words done last night...and now it is finally done. I have over 5,000 words. I have to put in my citations and read over it and make edits before I send it in as my rough draft, but the hard part is done! WOOHOO. I told myself that I would have it done by Friday, and I did it. Go me. Anyways its time for bed for this girl. Tomorrow is another long day.<br />

I am beyond excited. You don't even know, it is bad to say because I'm having the "time of my life" but I am ready to come home. Today while I was at work the other intern asked me if I had started applying for real jobs. I said NO, its like a year away! I guess for the banking industry you have to have in applications by October. This is just so scary to me. It really is scary because I'm not even sure now that finance is what I want to do considering that the two internships I have had, I haven't really liked. I mean looking at both of them, I like Time Warner Cable better than this one. I don't know if I am prepared for the real world in finance. They work like 80 hours a week...I can't do that...I'm not even sure that I really enjoy finance that much. Have I just wasted 3 years of education? What do I really want to do for the rest of my life? What makes me happy? I DON'T KNOW!!<br />
<br />
Sorry that was my seriousness for the day. Other than that...I have worked the last two days, done nothing really exciting besides that. Yesterday was Wednesday and that meant class...but no pub quiz. It was sad, we didn't know what to do with ourselves. We survived though and Kat made a delicious dinner pasta with stir fried vegetables. We tried to have a bottle of wine with it, but we have no cork screw...so that was an epic fail. You should have seen us. I came upstairs to work on my stupid paper, but that was an epic fail also. I ended up skyping with Geoff and talking to Mom on the phone for about an hour and a half. It was a good use of my time though, I have plenty of my paper done anyways. I have over 3,000 words out of 5,000. Not bad. I'm surprised that I have done that much having to talk about private equity.<br />
<br />
Today, I took a nap. That was the highlight of my day I must say. Oh! And I found a website that I can watch all of the episodes of Seinfeld for free online! WINNING. That was the highlight of my day actually. Tomorrow is a much needed day of rest. I need to relax and stop stressing out about this stupid paper and reading for class. I need to keep reminding myself of that. So not fair that we have so much work to do...I heard that taking classes abroad were a joke...well not when you have an internship apparently. Oh well it goes on my resume in the end. Well...I have to work on my paper more...<br />

Why do you ask? Well if you haven't figured it out by now...it's my day off! I started the day off by sleeping in, best thing ever to do when you have nothing to do. I woke up about 11am, got online checked my email, and facebook as usual nothing too exciting. I did get to start my day off by talking to Geoffrey though, which is always the best way to start the day. I sat in bed writing my paper for a little while (still in my PJ's of course). My paper is up to 1,800 words, and needs to be 5,000...so I feel that I have a good start.<br />
<br />
Of course it was a lovely day outside, and I didn't want to sit inside all day working on my paper and reading, although that would have been the responsible thing to do. What was a better thing to do than write my paper do you ask?! Going to Oxford street and shopping of course. I met up with Caitlin in Primark, only because she had exchanges...otherwise I would not have stepped foot in that store. It is much too crowded for my liking anymore. I feel that I have gone in and done some shopping, and I'm done now with that. I wasn't just aimlessly shopping though, I did have a reason for shopping. I needed to get something to wear in Paris for my birthday. We started off in a few different stores, with no luck of course. Either too expensive or just not what I was looking for. We headed down the road and we decided to go into the House of Fraiser. Downstairs had some cute dresses, but none I really liked once I put them on...and I wanted to buy some new converse and a planner from paperchase, but I decided that I was there looking for one thing. I can get that stuff some other time...like back in the States where the exchange rate doesn't suck. Of course the dollar is devaluing and the pound is increasing in value while we are over here so it makes it worse. I then continued upstairs into House of Fraiser, and there we were in the VERY expensive part. Yes there were amazing clothes in there, but it was much too expensive. If I had 200 pounds to just throw around on a dress than I was in the right spot, but since I didn't I was very out of place. I did purchase perfume though. Its the Armani Code for women, which I have wanted for a long time, but I always thought it was too expensive. Here it was only 40 pounds which even with the exchange rate I saved money. So excited. I went into many different stores before finally going into Topshop and getting my birthday dress, a little black dress. I am so excited for it to be my birthday so that I can wear that and my new shoes. I went into a store that is going out of business, and got two pairs of shoes. I love them. That was my therapy for the day...I didn't spend too much but I got everything that I wanted. Now all I need to get are accessories. Preferably a colorful necklace to wear. Other than that I'm set to go to Paris, tickets and hotel are booked...and now I've got my dress and shoes! (not going to show you pictures of my birthday stuff...have to wait to see that on!!)<br />

</div>For dinner we went to Pizza Hut. Even though I had some food at my place I still wanted to have pizza. It was absolutely wonderful. There were these kids though next to us that were just out of control. I don't get parents that can't control their kids. I finally headed home with my purcases and couldn't wait to get home to just relax. Of course when since I have been home I haven't done anything productive, but I feel that is just fine!<br />
<br />
Every day when I get home I check my mailbox, and nothing is in there. Today there was stupid junk mail in my box, and it wasn't even for me. It makes me sad seeing an empty box every day! Here is my address incase anyone wants to send me mail to fill that void of a depressing empty mailbox.<br />

I may be away on a vacation or something like that, but always with family and/or friends. Needless to say I was feeling a little bit homesick yesterday sitting here in London at work (I miss my Bella bunny!!!!). Work wasn't bad, but I had to hear Oliver yelling at his secretary all day. He was being very unreasonable, surprisingly though when he checked my emails over he didn't yell, or tell me they were wrong. I didn't have anything wrong with them so I got to send them off!<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
I also had lunch with my academic advisor. To my delight I found that my paper so far was good and I could keep going with what I had. We met at Starbucks and my lunch was delicious. It consisted of a steak and mozzarella panini, caramel frappacino, and some salt and vinegar chips. The panini was absolutely delicious, I was actually surprised. So the meeting commenced, I have to have a rough draft handed in by Sunday, so that I can have the paper done by Tuesday. It is a 5,000 word paper about private equity. Not excited to write about that. Anyways, I went back and finished up with work...nothing too exciting about that...OH except the fact that Oliver said happy 4th! That was really all my experience with the fourth of July was this year. And to think that last year, I was at the lake riding around on jet skis, having a BBQ. I wish I had that again this year, it's lik something is missing. It wasn't right. There's absolutely no sign of anything about that here, not that there should be...I guess I was just hoping.<br />
<br />
I was sitting in my room last night procrastinating my reading for class and I was thinking back on past 4th of July's. The best memories are from when I was little and we went to Grandma and Grandpa's house. They had the pool, we had BBQ's (you know, BBQ chicken or burgers on the grill, grandma's potato salad, fruit salad, corn on the cob, and some sort of Red White and Blue desert, how I would kill for that here), campfires with smore's, and then we would have our own fireworks that we would go to Pennsylvania to get with Grandpa. Sometimes we would even go to Endicott to see the fireworks there, and in the background you could hear a compilation of American songs. Such good times back in the day, and that is all I can think about while I'm here. Other than working, I read a lot...and of course ate some more pasta for dinner. We had no internet here so its not like I could even be on the computer last night, I actually went to McDonalds to use the free Wi-Fi last night for about an hour...see now if I was home, I wouldn't be bored enough to want to be on the computer. I can only say that next year I better have a good 4th of July, it's scary to think that I will be just starting my career at this time....Don't want to think about that yet. Gah. So here are pictures to illustrate what I should have been doing yesterday...<br />

I slept in as much as I could, until there was some knocking at my door from our RLA Nelson. I really didn't do much of anything besides go to the park and do some homework. It was a lovely day outside, of course until about an hour after we got to the park. So I did have to venture off to buy a hoodie from a stand right outside of the park, but it was well worth it. Its a very comfortable hoodie.<br />

They still had up all of the concert stuff from the 9 day series of concerts going on. Sunday was the last day, so we had a nice ambiance of music in the background as we sat in the grass doing homework. Actually before we sat in the grass, we had chairs...but then a man came up telling us that we had to pay to use the chairs. We thought that was ridiculous so we just sat on the ground from there on out. We ended up going back to Caitlin and Kat's flat so that Caitlin and I could book our flight and hotel for PARIS for my BIRTHDAY!!! I'm so excited. Sunday was nice because it was so relaxing, until it came to the booking. Even though I called Barclays before I left and told them that I would be in London, and Paris while I was there they put a hold on my card. I had to call them, they "fixed it", and I tried it again....wasn't fixed, so I had to call again! Finally it worked...but seriously?! Come on.<br />

There is the Royal Ascot, Cricket, and the Henley Royal Regatta. Basically people get all dressed up and wear fancy hats and go to these events, eat and drink. I missed the ascot, but hey who cares?! I got to go to the Regatta, which of course I could relate to much more just because I used to row. I have never wanted to get back in the boat more than I did on Saturday. It was frustrating, but of course still fun.<br />
<br />
The day started off and we went to Paddington rail station. It was intense how many people were there. We stood in line waiting for our tickets at the instant ticket booth, and Amy's card wouldn't work (because we don't have the special chip in our cards)...so I tried it, and it worked. At first we thought it didnt, so we just went and stood in line to talk to the actual people, and in the mean time someone came up to me and asked if I was the last one to use the machine. At least they were honest, because I totally didn't know that it had worked. So I got my tickets, but Amy still had to wait in line. Rather than just being an extra person in the way, I decided to go to a store that was in the train station. It's called Accessorize, and I bought an awesome hat. I had a flower in my hair before, but then I bought the hat, not only so that I would fit in better at the Regatta, but also because its such a great hat. Amy met up with me, and then Kat and Liz did as well. We went to go get a traditional English breakfast. It was fabulous. It had eggs, hash brows, sausage, bacon, toast, mushrooms & half of a tomato. I almost ate the whole thing but couldn't quite do it.<br />

</div><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-gsi8UATQEPM/ThJHwl-PmgI/AAAAAAAAANE/Mk98qbN0Z7Y/s1600/DSCN3916.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-gsi8UATQEPM/ThJHwl-PmgI/AAAAAAAAANE/Mk98qbN0Z7Y/s320/DSCN3916.JPG" width="320" /></a>We left the pub, and made our way back to the train station where we met up with Caitlin. We were finally all together so we headed to the train. There were absolutely no seats to sit in, it was very cramped the whole ride, very uncomfortable. It was still fun to see all of the crazy shoes and outfits that were there. We had to make a transfer, where yet again, it was very crowded but hey it was a short ride this time. We finally made it. It was such a cute little town. Very very quaint, right on the river. There were a lot of people everywhere. I got like a rush of happiness and excitement to see the boats on the water, and people rowing, it just made me want to do it again. We had to find the perfect spot to sit. There was a constant traffic jam. We finally made it to a spot where we were close to the river, and had a place to sit, but of course there were a bunch of people walking right in front of us that never ended. We finally just decided to make our own spot right on the river which was splendid. We got to do a lot of people watching, and of course race watching. Harvard was even there which was pretty sweet. We sat in the sun trying to get some rays before we had to make our way back home. The train ride home was very quick and painless. Everyone got a seat which was great. Kat, Amy and I had to meet up with pub quiz master Billy to go to a comedy play. It was a great show, very funny.<br />

</div>After the show we had another person to add to our group, Billy's friend that was in the play. We were going to just chill at a pub for a little while, but once again the stupid bus got us and we missed our stop. So we ended up just going to the next destination and just hanging out there for a few hours. We didn't get home almost until the sun was rising...Stupid bus....yet again. It was time for bed for me.JessicaLynnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00879852468330936453noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-414315458947194511.post-87858238179174148232011-07-04T16:05:00.001-04:002011-07-04T19:25:30.356-04:00Wimbledon one minute, ginger the nextI am pretty sure that anyone with any sort of sports knowledge has heard of Wimbledon before...well if you haven't its only one of the biggest tennis matches, or it is the biggest I'm not sure. See, I said you should have heard about it, not know all the details about it.<br />

We decided to go to Wimbledon. When we met at the train station we had to put some more money on our tube pass, just because it is outside of zones 1&2. We were already to head out and go to Wimbledon, we had our food packed for a lovely picnic and of course we all looked fabulous. We made our journey there, and after about 45 minutes we finally got there. It was a lovely area that it was in, and we had to walk through Wimbledon Park to get to the stadium. There was a fun little playground for kids, tennis courts and a beautiful trellis garden. We went and found the queue, which wasn't hard to find, because it was a 5 hour queue to get inside. Just to the grounds, you couldn't even see the courts, and it was still about 20 pounds. The grounds was just a hill with a big screen television for you to watch, and apparently thats where they get you...you have to pay. We decided it wasn't worth it, so we made our way back to the park and popped a squat to eat our picnic. It was a lovely picnic, we had some cherries, strawberries, clementines, carrots, humus, bread, cheese, and of course for dessert my favorite, chocolate chip brioche rolls. MMMMM. We sat there for quite a few hours, and it was just cool being in the environment of Wimbledon, even though we couldn't even tell we were there. We snapped a few cool pictures of the entry way to the queue and headed out.<br />

Primark. We went to Primark for a few minutes, and then we went to Boots (the pharmacy) and bought me some hair dye. We were talking earlier that day and I decided that I wanted to change up my look. So we bought some hair dye and dyed my hair later that night. In the mean time we went to get some food to make at Kat's flat, so we got some Indian food, pretty good. On our way back to her flat we walked through Hyde park and hear some music. We thought it sounded familiar....but we weren't sure. We kept walking, but then we started to realize that it was a band we knew, it ended up being the Black Eyed Peas. We ended up sitting down in Hyde Park to finish up the rest of our picnic and then dance music started playing and then we got up and danced around like crazy people. It was a lot of fun.<br />

<br />
<br />
We went home, dyed my hair red, and then took the night bus home. That was yet again another interesting time...I hate the night bus. But we made it home alright...finally and called it a night.<br />

Before I took a nap there was an amazing thunderstorm here. The sky started to get very black, and then all of a sudden it was pouring and then there was a flash of lightning and crack of thunder right after. It was great. Tuesday they offer Zumba so Amy and I made our way there. Let me just say it is pretty much a work out to just get there. It is through Arcadia, but it is across town so we first had to walk a half a mile to the tube station, take a 45 minute tube ride to get to Notting Hill, then had to walk another half a mile from there to Palace court where zumba takes place. We stood outside ringing the doorbell for a good 20 minutes before we just decided to leave. We couldn't get in because since we don't live there, we don't have a key and we can't get in. So we made our treck to get back home. What did we decide to do next?! We didn't do what you would think, going out and running, going to the park? Nope. We went to McDonalds. We figured it was a good break even thing to do, instead of being able to work out we just went to get fattening food! I had a lovely chicken sandwich, fanta, and fries....all from the dollar menu of course! Then on our way out I bought a McFlurry...and in hopes of them flurrying my McFlurry there was more of an attempt this time. It was more than a lump of M&M's on top, they sort of did a once around the cup spin, of which I could have done myself. I have just been let down with the McFlurry's here! Rather sad. <o:p></o:p></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="color: black; font-family: Times; font-size: 13.5pt; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">Wednesday was another work day. Nothing exciting happened there besides when I spilled a whole cup of water on myself. That was not pleasant. Then it was our typical Wednesday night with class and then Pub Quiz! We amazingly got 34 points! Well...not really. We awarded ourselves plenty of half points and double points. We still managed to come in about 5th, so apparently we didn't give ourselves enough credit! It was our last night of being able to do Pub Quiz with Billy, so we decided to give him our own quiz with questions we made up. Of course being 4 American girls, we gave him plenty of chick flick movie questions, and American questions. It was great...it was decided that if he got less than a 60% than he lost, If he got more than a 75% he won...and if it was between them we got to have drinks. He got a 70% which was still pretty good, but still not winning. We stayed until the pub closed (about midnight) and had drinks and played more trivia. It was good fun.<o:p></o:p></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />

This week flew by, it feels like I just got back from Ireland. Thats besides the point. It was another Zumba day so we decided to give it another go. Making that long treck to Palace Court, we got there in hopes of someone opening the door, and to our surprise someone did! We got there and it was great. We had a wonderful time zumba-ing. We worked up a good sweat. That was that though, nothing else exciting for Thursday. Now be ready for my adventures from the weekend!!<o:p></o:p></span></div><!--EndFragment-->JessicaLynnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00879852468330936453noreply@blogger.com0
